The IEEE INFOCOM 2022, to be held online on 2-5 May, 2022 is pleased to announce Student Conference Grant to support online participation at the conference. This student conference grant is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) and covers full registration fee of the conference for a student.
Applications are invited from qualified full-time graduate students. To qualify, a student must (i) be a current Student Member of ComSoc at the time of application; (ii) be a full-time student registered in a college or university when submitting the application.
All qualified students are encouraged to apply. But preferences will be given to the following students:
- a student who is going to present a papers, poster or demo in the main conference or a workshop;
- a student who is a co-author of an accepted paper, poster, or demos in the main conference or a workshop;
- a student who is a first-time attendee of INFOCOM conference (and is not an author/co-author).
For all student conference grant applicants, conference registration is required to receive the award (see the application deadline below). The registration can be of any type, but the award amount will be no greater than that to cover the Full Conference Registration for IEEE ComSoc Student member (which is $125). The award will be disbursed upon the PDF receipt showing the student’s registration of the conference.
An application for a student conference grant will consist of the following documents, and incomplete applications will not be considered.
1. A request letter from the student (see below).
2. The student's resume.
3. A recommendation letter from the student's advisor.
The letter from the student should be at most one page, and include the following information:
- Whether the student is going to present a paper, poster, or demo in the main conference or a workshop; If yes, include paper title.
- Whether the student is a co-author of an accepted paper, poster, or demo in the main conference or a workshop.
- Whether the student is a first-time attendee of INFOCOM conference (and is not an author/co-author).
- Whether the student is from any under-represented groups (e.g., women, minorities and people with disabilities).
- A brief summary of research interests and accomplishments to date.
- A statement about why the conference attendance is important to the student.
The advisor's recommendation letter for the student should include:
1. Confirmation that student is a full-time graduate student in good academic standing at the given institution.
2. The suitability of the INFOCOM 2022 program material to the student’s research area (if the student is not an author or co-author).
3. Ways this particular student would benefit from attendance at the conference (if the student is not an author or co-author).
Applicants should create their application as a single PDF file, following the format described above. After login to EDAS, click on the “Travel Grants" tab, look for a conference called "INFOCOM 2022 Student Conference Grant", and then submit the application.
1. Should I merge my advisor's recommendation letter with my application together to submit to EDAS for different types of grants?
No. You will need to provide the email address of your advisor when you submit the application. Your advisor will then receive a separate email from EDAS to instruct him/her to submit the recommendation letter to EDAS.
2. Am I eligible to apply for the student conference grant being an author of a workshop paper/demo/poster?
Yes, you are encouraged to apply.
